I hate the banks, I hate the bureaucracy that makes the rules about the visas (and keeps changing these rules), I hate LA Fitness, I hate how badly I slept last night (due to the bedroom being too warm), and I hate that I feel dizzy right now.

Hate hate hate.

I hate that I haven't been able to submit my work permit application this morning like I thought I would be able to two weeks ago because I don't have all of the documents together because the rules keep changing on me and I hate that this had me up at 6 AM stressing and HSBC is making me wait four days for the document I requested today.

Bought a Matcha "chiller" at eat to try to help with the tired and the dizzy.

HSBC can bite me, though.

Wow, after seven months, six (or more) phone calls, and five branch visits and denial after denial, HSBC has finally FINALLY managed to send my credit card bill to the correct address - you know, the one where I live.

I am flabbergasted. I swear I see a winged pig cruising by my apartment window this very moment.

Also, I've received yet another package (this is four in about eight days), which is cool, as I have no idea what it is, and Darjeeling Namring Oolong (from Mariage Freres, thanks [info]shadowdaddy) is delicious.

A bit of a slow week

I told [info]shadowdaddy (last night, over pints at the Bricklayer), in regards to his new job, "You didn't just get a paycheck, you got drinking buddies!" See, he spent all afternoon in the "local" downing pints, in a "strategy meeting." (Eventually [info]wechsler joined us and we went to dinner at Royal Court, but that's another story.)

Tonight: am hoping to leave work early and go home and take a snooze. If [info]wechsler can leave early, I'm likely to make it to the Betty Ford Clinic. However, my general record of going clubbing Fridays is crap, so it's a bit "we'll see."

[info]shadowdaddy attempted to purchase a weekend package out of town on Tripadelic last night, and it just didn't work. Now, is that because the flights were too cheap and they weren't available, or were they actually sold out? I'm not sure but I really WOULD like to get out of town next weekend. He did, however, succeed (earlier) in getting tickets to Catpower on May 1st, so at least we'll be doing that.

In other news, HSBC is officially the worst bank ever, for after being told TWICE that our mailing address was the London one (after they sent our credit cards to our US account), they, yes indeed, MAILED OUR FUCKING CREDIT CARD BILL to the house in the US. That's great, as if it were actually forwarded here, we'd surely be paying late fees, if it even showed up. Fucking, fucking stupid bank. It's time for us to get a new one. Suggestions?

And now, off for a meeting at which I must show up at 9 AM, but which I don't care about in the least. Joy. At least I'll be riding my bike to work and I can look forward to that.

The estate agents can bite me

I saw no houses today. I am considering making an offer on the flat I saw Saturday, as it was pretty cool and I liked the garden and flat hunting is Ass.

HSBC did not have an account for me when I went to see about it today so I can't give my new work my info for direct deposit. They, like the estate agents (especially the one who cancelled on me for today), can bite me.

[info]wechsler and I went to the Natural History Museum this afternoon in an attempt to salvage some of the day. We looked at an exhibit about bugs (well, arthropods, really) and bunches and bunches of fish fossils, great big ones. Then I went to Streatham and hung out with [info]spikeylady and then had dinner with her and [info]ergotia and [info]lilithmagna. The food was really good and the company was, as always, spectacular. It was nice and I felt very much not stressed out.

Now I'm just tired as can be. I'm unfortunately tempted to stay up and read Ellen Kushner's The Privilege of the Sword, which I pretty much have read every moment I could for the last 24 hours. Damn that woman and her nauseatingly compelling story telling style! I have a new job to start tomorrow and I need to get some sleep!
