I never ever want to go home

Driving south on Second Avenue
I am the girl in the side of the Ural
Low to the ground, the breeze rushing over me, the engine chuckling off the buildings' walls.
The full moon, hovering beside the Smith tower,

(Thanks to trenchwench for a great night out and a most excellent lift to Maekawa.)

Aww -- this is the first time that someone's posted about my Ural (outside of me, of course). It really was a lovely night filled with very good things:

1) silent movie. (By the way, in my confusion - I commited the ultimate sin of mixing up my Barrymore with my Fairbanks. Woops!)
2) Ural ride through downtown, girl in an appropriately fabulous skirt in the sidecar and huge moon shining down on a warm night
3) Fabulous food in a new location -- thanks for showing me a part of Seattle that I (jade that I am) had not yet discovered.

fun evening
What's the actual model? I was trying to refer to it but I couldn't figure it out.

I was puzzling over the Barrymore/Pickford connection later. I was pretty sure I'd heard of the Pickford pair, but Barrymore wasn't registering as the right person.

Here's a nice article about Maekawa that will give you a few more items to drool over.

Re: fun evening
I have a Bavarian -- they don't make my model anymore. The closest to mine is the tourist or the patrol, although the retro has the same markings.

Yeah- it was Fairbanks I was thinking of. He and Mary Pickford may not have married (can't recall) but they were an item for YEARS. Also, Fairbanks did all his own stunts, but I'm not sure about Barrymore. So that leonine leap down the staircase, might not have been good ol' Barry.

Thanks for the link.

Oh great - Now I have another motorcycle to drool over other than the military version of the Royal Enfield Bullet. I wasn't familiar with the Ural but it's a pretty fantastic bike, especially with sidecar.
