So it looks like my project is running late, right? Boss is talking about how we might have to come in this weekend. He's explaining to the PM why things are all screwed up. Partner site unreliable, other project stealing our resources, and ...
"The test site has been up and down like a whore's knickers."

Whew. I am so not in America anymore.

In other news ...

I sang the boots song tonight as I opened my first box of stuff! It went, "Boots, boots, boots, boots! Boots, boots, boots ... Boots boots boots boots BOOTS!"

I'm glad your stuff finally arrived - it'll make it feel so much more like home.

pretty vacant
Oddly, it seems like there's so little of it. I suppose that's because everything is in boxes. I wonder what kind of stuff is in my brother's basement?

No, see, in Seattle we call them "seamstresses". So it would be "The test site has been up and down like a seamstress' panties."

This is a historical reference, incidentally. 19th-century Seattle actually officially classified the working girls as seamstresses, so they could tax their "sewing machines".

Well, I figured you would- but it's rather obscure for other readers. :)

Well, yes, and I was not planning on going anyway as it conflicts with our company party. And hey, we'll just all come into work on Saturday hung over. (Though if the party is dull I might come by ... I'd enjoy the opportunity to show this dress off - it's backless, though you can't tell in the picture.)

Re: Joy
Guess when Tripadelic scheduled their holiday party?

The night after release.

Re: Joy
That is SO typical. This one is scheduled between two releases as we're breaking the rules and doing them only one week apart so we don't bleed into the pre-Christmas code freeze. Morons.

Congrats on going perm, by the way!
