How many things can go wrong when you're just trying to buy a plane ticket?

First, it wants frequent flyer number. I can't find it. I don't have it in any of my email files. I can't find a hard copy. I discover that we have piles of paper all over the house that need to be put away or filed, including the original documents for our trip to Egypt (that would have let us know about the sleeper car if I'd ever seen it). I can't log in using my email address, even though the airline in question has no problem sending me email.

Finally, it shows up (through the miracle of "autofill"). I click submit ...

and the session has died. For some reason, now Iberia only wants to sell flights from Spain. It won't sell me a flight from London. I don't know why.

Eventually I get Kayak.com to trick it into letting me back into London land. Then I mispell my last name. But can I go backwards and add another L? NO NO NO. I have to do it all over again.

So, basically, it took me over an hour just to buy ONE FREAKING TICKET to Barcelona. This should not have been a big deal. Now it's after my bedtime, I haven't had a shower, I've decided my house is a pit, and I'm cranky as hell. After such a nice dinner and chat chez bathtubgin, it's a horrible shame to end my evening this grumpy.
