Party recap, and failure to ignite

Thank you to all who made it to last night's party, our final in our lovely riverside flat. It was so great to actually take some time to visit with people; Winterbrew is always J's event and he pours drinks while I laze around. I managed to convince some people to get on the bizarre liqueurs train with me, though, and I'm pleased to say even the almond cream stuff took a trip out of the bottle. For those of you who didn't make it, see you at the Country House in Tooting. I'm looking forward to having people over as often as possible.

I've realized we've got some serious shopping to do to make this place happen - not only do we have no more guest bed for the guest bedroom, we also have no laundry racks and dish drainer, as a start. We bought a kettle yesterday (half price at BHS, why not), but we'll need quite a bit more. That said, after getting a moving quote at 450, we may try to buy not quite all we need for as long as we can get by without it.

It's sunny as can be outside, and while my mood may not perfectly match, I'm pretty up for taking what may be our final walk in Bishop's Park to help reset our internal clocks to something more closely approximating the time zone in which we're in. The next week is going to be busy, busy, busy with the packing (especially today and tomorrow), but we'll get a lot more if we can actually manage to get up before 11 AM (a must on Monday when we go back to work). I've got some sun screen on ... now to ... walk ... out ... the door ....
