Thanksgiving day fail

Today we have no Thanksgiving like plans whatsoever. No dinner invites; tried to get into a place serving Tday food but there must be a lot of us out there as I couldn't get a reservation.

No, today we're both going t work, and tonight we're going to watch Ponyo, the new Miyazaki movie.

I was hoping I was over caring about Thanksgiving but after 40 years of it being the second biggest holiday of the year, it just doesn't go away so quickly. I really sympathize with all of those immigrants back in America who couldn't let go of their traditions; I really know how it feels now.

I can't replicate the food but you're welcome to come over here if you'd like. There's a Mexican place up the road, we could eat there?

Thanks. :-) Won't be done with movie until 8, tho. May try to hit Clapham BoDeans anyway & see if someone failed to show up for their reservation.

I didn't even realise it was Thanksgiving until I read this today. I guess I've never been one for traditions, at least not the big societally-enforced ones.

My morning was mostly spent replying the the (mandatory) office christmas party email, and wondering if it would seem too passive-agressive to request a kosher meal in the dietary requirements section.

It was a holiday that I made have meaning for me when my family crapped out. Didn't realize I'd done a number on my own head, though.
