Ohhh what a day. We walked around the Dubrovnik city walls (so many stairs!) until we realized we were in danger of gwtting badly sunburnt from overexposure; then we sat & drank cold, fresh orange juice & chilled out. We visited an old Dominican monastery to see its Titian and inadvertently found another inside the city cathedral. Then we went to a beach, rented shaded deck chairs, and spent the afternoon reading, swimming, and napping. It got cool and we decided to go for a glass bottomed boat ride (all of £5 so why not) before going back to the hotel. We showered the dried salt spray off then were rushed off to dinner, which was traditionally cooked lamb at some place in the hills overlooking town.
Now we are stuffed and exhausted & dried out. It was a good day overall. I've been readling "The Wind in the Willows" and it's just amazing. Still-bed time now, and more swimming tomorrow.
