Thursday I spent the day getting trained. Or, rather, I wasted the day at a training thing that didn't actually amount to much. In the evening, I, er ... what did I do? Oh yes, I went to visit katyha and tried the garbanzo bean and pasta recipe I've got, which wasn't as good as I was hoping, but I got her (elder) daughter to eat some anyway, so not too bad there.
Tonight I went to see Alvin Ailey at Sadler's Wells. I wanted to see some American dance, you know? And it felt good to be there, and the woman I went with and I had a wonderful visit beforehand and were clapping and swaying together and the end and she danced down the stairs on the way out so I think it's definite that ONE of us had a good time, though really I know we both did.
I got very caught up in The City and The City on my way back home. Tempting to read it now, but I've been trying to catch up with LJ and other online stuff for the last, er, two hours, so that probably won't be happening now.
Tomorrow I'm going to a London Open House event with wechsler, to see the Bishop's Palace in Croydon. Then we're heading up north for a party. I'm tempted to see if we can sneak into the British Museum, because I have a strange feeling we're going to miss the maps exhibit at this rate.
While I'm not sure if I'll make it back home beforehand, I am absolutely going to be at the Little Angel Puppet Theater Sunday at 2 to see the puppet show of The Fantastic Mr Fox. I even have a stunt child going with me (see note above), which I'm pleased about. Then I'm toddling down the street back to Sadler's Wells and I will see the second program of the Alvin Ailey company. I am excited about this: I've got a la_mysterieuse joining me, which will be marvellous. I actually set up both of my dates via Twitter, which I think is The Awesome. Social Networking, you are now all about the Twitter.
After all this, it will be back home. I don't think I'll write up either of the dance shows, but I will write up Mr. Fox, which I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy a lot. I do like my puppet shows.
In the meantime - it's almost one and time to hit the sack. Night!
