Trying to come back to what passes for reality

I made a little detour to check on the book I wanted to get before I went on my trip, John Steinbeck's Sea of Cortez. The cheapest one I found was $100 on Amazon ... it's very out of print. I can't believe I just thought I'd run into one at Twice Sold Tales!

I'm having a hard time focusing still, and it's not helped by the fact the build that I MUST MUST MUST be testing is completely down for the count, not scheduled to be released until 3 PM today ... many hours after my arrival. That means I can be focusing on, um, other stuff not involving surfing the web (like planning for the big storm of work that's going to hit me the third week of February), but it's going slowly. My coworker gave me a special cake his wife made to celebrate the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca - almond, paneer, and egg, yum! My gifts to my coworkers were generally well received, but I have yet to unleash the coconut cake.

Tonight we're going to see Tokyo Godfathers at the Crest, Tuesday night is Japanese class, Wednesday I'm trying to save to get the survey for EMG finished, Thursday I'll be running around getting the survey printed, Friday is Anonymous 4 at Town Hall (and hosting a reception after the concert), Saturday is Birthday of Brother (Mexican food, Asylum Street Spankers at the Tractor) preceeded by Dropping Off of the Surveys, and Sunday will be ... heavens, recovery day, I think. Whew!
