Sea dragon

Sirk and Byrd

Just got back from seeing the new production of Spectrum Dance, now under Donald Byrd. The old stuff (jazz dance) looked boring and the dancers looked bad dancing it; the new piece Byrd had choreographed looked interesting, but the dancers looked like they hadn't quite settled into his style. We'll see how it develops. I had a nice chat with a woman named Hong who used to be the guest curator (or something like that) at OTB. With any luck I'll run into her at the Eifman Ballet.

We're hoping to leave in about ten minutes to go see the Douglas Sirk movies at the Grand Illusion, so I have to make this another shorty so I can take the dogs out for a quick walk.
