Day 7: Brought China Keemun, still need new umbrella

Tarnished Angels was delightfully sleazy. The dialogue was witty in that "I'm in a Hollywood movie" kind of way. It seems unfortunate that we didn't stay for the second feature (we're going back tomorrow), but since shadowdaddy spent the night tossing and turning because he was "too hot" it's a good thing we got home when we did. And we had time for a round of Carcasonne, which was a 30 point rout, my favor. Tonight the goal is ... I don't know, get enough sleep? But we might go see Cowboy Bebop at the Varsity tonight. Or I might write the Early Music Guild newsletter. Or do both.

My favorite Thursday night bartender is featured in Tablet this issue.

Damp outside, rugs, Elliot Bay

I decided to eat my sandwich from Friday at my desk and use my lunch time to peruse Elliot Bay. They had a bunch of cool looking books on the sale table, including a little book about Venice and a huge coffee-table tome on tulips. I was tempted to just buy them all but of course that's not a good idea. Now I'm perusing rugs online, inspired by jamming a splinter way up under my fingernail last night when I was pulling some newspapers off of the dining room floor (if you can't sand it, cover it!). I did actually find a good option amongst the crap. (And obviously this is a topic that could keep me busy all day. I'd better get back to work.)
