Testing "Cranium Titanium"/"Turbo Cranium"

Unfortunately, game testing last night did not involve actually playing the game. Instead, I got to watch OTHER people play the game and then remark on whether or not I thought what they were doing was fun. The thing I noticed right off was that they had totally ripped off The Polling Game for one of their new areas. There were a couple of areas where they were trying to introduce areas to speed up the play (timed pictionary and play do sculpting), some things to cross-pollinate teams (cross-team charades), and a "mind meld" that reminded me of the "worst case scenario" game where you had to figure out what answer other people would say. Afterwards I took my ill-gotten gains and met up with motomotoyama (with whom I'd done water aerobics earlier in the evening), faminella, and shadowdaddy at Goldies for $1.50 beer night. It was pleasantly low key. shadowdaddy was pretty jazzed up about his first softball game of the year, and me, I was pleased that I didn't have to drive up to Loyal Heights to pick him up. And Glenn from Xsides was there, and just seeing him was nice. After we got home, shadowdaddy said he was thinking about getting us a tandem bike for our anniversary, which I thought was very exciting.

This AM I got a call from my hairdresser, so I'm on for an appointment at 5 PM tomorrow ... only where am I going to park the car to get there?

Tonight is flamenco. I'm not very excited about it, but maybe if I actually practice a little before class I'll feel like not such a clod when we actually get to the learning new stuff part. There is one section of the first dance we've been learning where you're supposed to drag one of your feet around as you turn in a circle and I always feel like a cripple (the elephant man?) when we do that move. I'm already thinking about what class to take this summer, and I'm feeling inclined to skip dancing in favor of a ... painting class. At least I could see my progress on the page!

Getting ready for the trip

I finally got some actual work to do today, and of course I'm feeling nervous about my boss being in meetings (they're about me not working very hard!). Of course, part of that is because I've been doing research for my trip. I found a place in Taos that's reasonably priced and not as junky looking as the place in Jemez Springs I had scoped out.

I went to Koraku for lunch and had "today's special," chicken stir fried with salty vegetables, then polished it off with a egg custard tart from the Piece of Cake bakery around the corner. Yum!
