Sea dragon

late hubby arrival

I got to bed at 1 last night, since the soccer game got out at 10:15 and I figured my old man would be back any old time. But instead of being sensible and drinking in the International District (click that link, it will make you laugh), he decided to go to a bar all the way across downtown, and one which was so popular he and his brother were unable to get into. Anyway, I sit around for AGES, and I was so bored! No one was commenting on the things I had said on their blogs, I couldn't get all of the software I needed to make the site work where I could have played Carcasonne online, and I didn't have a single book to read (I mean I have 400 but no tips as to which one I should start). So I just frittered the night away doing practically nothing ... a fate I hope today does not share.

After having a little blowout with my back-one-house neighbor about his buddy's four-wheel use of the alley, B-I-L, his pal and I headed to Tacoma. Although we made it to the Southern Kitchen (chicken fried steak with collards, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese for me, ma'am), we wound up NOT going to see either the art museum or the Museum of Glass, because I knew Worthy Opponent wanted to see the anime exhibit at M. Ass and I didn't want him to miss out because I had already gone. So now we're supposed to go back on Saturday before taking B-I-L to the airport. I think it sounds like a good plan, and it gave us plenty of time to fool around on the waterfront and the Union Station downtown, so overall it added to the relaxingness of the day. We even made it back in time for me to talk to Deb before we headed out again and went to the Locks.

We wound up at Golden Gardens watching boats (and a lost beach ball) scudding around on the water, feeling very lazy. I decided against the Theater Schmeater fundraiser and instead we went home with two newly-purchased six packs and Worthy Opponent and I convinced the owners of Mesob to give us a to-go order on their cool serving platter (now cleaned and waiting to be returned). We ate dinner in the back yard, then our visitors headed to the Break Room for a show (oops, I mean Chop Suey) while we played a round of Hunters and Gatherers.
