Sea dragon

Hello, drawbridge, hello, Le Fournil

Scooting down Capitol Hill this morning I was faced with a terrible reality. Yes, I had waited too long to get my ass out of the door for work, and the drawbridge was up. However, since I had planned to stop by Le Fournil anyway, I was mostly aggravated because I couldn't just get out of my car and walk into the bakery, but had to wait for the bridge to finish its business and go back down again so I could get into the garage and off of the street. I felt indulgent and got a strawberry croissant as well as the fruit tart I had come in for. Yum! I had been thinking about going in there on the way to work for many days, but didn't want to bug shadowdaddy with a request to stop. But he's in a kayak off of the California coast today, so there was no one holding me back ...

I'm unsure if I'm going out to lunch or not yet, but I'm contemplating after work Pilates (although I don't see it on the schedule) before my trip to my brother's house for Settlers of Catan.

Panic attack

My boss just came up to me and said that since the client doesn't have the code ready for 2/3 of this project that we'll be looking at time off after we finish this section, possibly after Tuesday. I am flipping out and he really seems not to get that "just take some time off" isn't a good response when they've given me 2/3 of the time I've been working here off already.

I actually watched my short term memory completely dive and I'm now in the mode of extreme distraction that accompanies a panic attack. All I can think of is "must get a job! Must get a job!" I've made three jobbie contacts in the last five minutes and I keep refreshing my Yahoo mail to see if I got a response to any of them yet.

Jesus CHRIST on a TRISCUIT I just want to know that I HAVE A FUCKING JOB so I can NOT STRESS OUT ABOUT MONEY ALL THE FUCKING TIME! This getting jacked around thing is FOR THE BIRDS! Do you SEE wings on my back? Are those FEATHERS on my head? NO!!!

Out of the black hole

Well, of all things ...

I just came home and discovered I got a phone call from IDX, the schmancy medical software company in downtown Seattle. I'm a little sorry I wasn't able to return their call before the end of the day, but Hey! Ho! I'm ready to go! They've got the TOTALLY perfect location, right behind the Y (hello, water aerobics lunches!) and darn close to Bakemans. I'd drop Q*** for them so quick that all the dust bunnies in the office would be tailing me out the door.

Anyway, I've got a date at my brother's house for games at 7:30, and before then I've got to crank out a story for Tablet (only 150, so easy, peasy), so me's got to get off the LJ and start a-writin'.
