Day three - Port Townsend, Sorry Charlies a rousing success

The day got off to a late start with a 10 AM breakfast of huevos rancheros (with chorizo!) and hash browns New Mexico style, so we only caught the 11:20 ferry to Bainbridge. After a brief visit to the Poulsbo bakery, we made it to Port Townsend at around 1:30, too late to do kayaking. We wandered around downtown, then went to Fort Worden and got totally sucked in at the Marine Science Center, a completely uninspired little building chock full of neat sea creatures, many of which you could touch. I learned how to tell the difference between a seunflower star and a slimy starfish, with careful instruction by the charming Americorps member Leslie.

When we made it back to Bainbridge, it was 7:30 or so, and the ferry we had hoped to catch was full. We decided on the boat to skip having Amber cook for us (since we were half dead, having only had some ice cream in Port Townsend and no proper lunch) and go to Mama's Mexican Food. Then we ran home, quickly changed our clothes, and ran back out to Sorry Charlies, where my sister knocked the house dead! She was really amazing, and everyone kept wanting her to sing more songs (set list at karaokeposse). We finally went home at 1 AM. It's been a good trip. Tomorrow our only plan is pilates in the AM and getting that meat she bought finally cooked. Mmm, home made flautas!

Last day of visit and Rosemary's baby

I was going to do a big entry about my sister's last day in town, followed by a review of Bald Faced Lie's latest production (Rosemary's Baby), but I'm tired and my stomach feels really bad right now. I have worries that the less-than-adequate refrigerator may have taken its subtle toll on the meat in the flautas Amber made for lunch today. Oof. We'll see how Worthy Opponent feels in the morning.
