Wet and drippy waiting for me

I have kind of forgotten how to dress properly for wet weather. Where are the clothes that keep me warm AND dry? Or just dry? And what did I used to do about shoes? I had already put the sandals away a couple of weeks ago, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be wearing instead of my mary janes. I'm suddenly remembering why the two year long search for waterproof boots was such an issue.

Back from the auto shop

This morning has been right pleasant so far. I dropped the car off at Greg's, had them take me to Glo's where I had the 2-2-1 B (french toast with sausage and a poached egg) served to me by Glo herself, then ran some little errands (bank, Play it Again for snoeshoes-not bought, REI for kayaking shoes-not bought, but they do have those cool national park posters I've had my eye on for so long) before returning to get the car. They suggested I get a little more work done on it, which I've decided to do tomorrow after I have my last lunch at Koraku (sob).

I've changed the plans for tonight to Bend it Like Beckham at the Crest at, um, 7 PM (unless Cathy wants to go to the 9:20 - I'm waiting to hear back from her!). That's after my exciting afternoon of polyurethaning and gardening in the rain.

Worthy Opponent, Cathy and I were the last three people in Seattle to see Bend it Like Beckham tonight. Yeah, it was fun and feel good, definitely a good choice for $3, but it was weird that only 2 other people were in the movie theater. What do they expect, what with it coming out on video? I hope they have plans for the theater next week. I forgot that they have Spellbound at the Crest right now, too, but I don't know when I'm going to see it. Right now it's looking like Lost in Translation on Friday, La Venexiana on Saturday, and The Hobbit on Sunday. That's surely enough to keep me on my toes for the weekend. Maybe I should start it all off with a little karaoke tomorrow, though. Hmm.

Anyway, tonight I'm going to lay on another layer of polyurethane on the wood floor (yay, chemicals!) before I go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be pilates, Last Trip to Koraku (sob!), and dropping the car off for some repairs I skipped today. Phew! With luck I will be able to find some good ballroom dance shoes at that place on Alaskan - otherwise I'm putting my order in for my Roxie Hart shoes Friday!
