I had a very good Valentine's day

We just got back from the Northwest Actors Studio, where Howard Bulson was tickling the ivories as planned. I had a pretty good evening - I thing we stayed for about three hours (until 1:30). Collapse )
The day was overall very successful, with a trip to Udupi Palace in Bellevue in the late afternoon (the food was amazing, read my full review on seattle_dining) followed by a nap. Then we revved up with some green tea and headed to the Grand Illusion to see Picadilly (not as naughty as I'd hoped for but very lush and full of special silent movie touches) then rushed over to BurningHearts' Burlesque at the Rendezvous, where we were sadly ten minutes late for the start of the show (darn movie was half an hour longer than posted) but got in, got in for free, and found my brother and his wife inside (as planned). What fun! I think though that we'll be skipping the snowshoeing tomorrow and just going to Stephen Petronio at On The Boards. Last night we wound up not going out either, just having Chris and Maurie over for dinner and then breaking in his copy of Tigris and Euphrates - which was more than entertainment enough for one evening.

Downtown ... the lights are much brighter there

The sun is breaking through the clouds and given my options I think I'll regret not going for a nice long walk much more than I'll regret not spending an hour cleaning the bedroom. Truth be told, my bedroom probably hasn't been clean in six months, and I'd rather sieze the moment and spend the afternoon outside strolling through downtown Seattle. I can buy some discount tickets for the dance performance tonight, pick up some cute new undies at the Bon, return my copy of "Only the Lonely" to the library, and ... be outside. I've got about six stories from the New York Times cued up and waiting to go on the computy, but I think they'll hold until tonight.

Back from a very long walk

Our expedition to downtown Seattle was very pleasant - some three and a half hours of walking during dry and mostly sunny weather, from our house there and back. I returned with three bags from the tea shop, two bars of goat's milk soap, and a pound box of chocolates from See's that I bought with a gift certificate. Unfortunately there were no half price tickets to be had for the Stephen Petronio company, so we won't be going tonight, but I did get a DVD of The Young Girls of Rochefort from the library, so we're covered for entertainment tonight. I guess it's been a good weekend, but now it's typical wind-down activities - dishes, laundry, all the things I didn't get done over the weekend. Maybe we can squeeze in a game of Carcasonne before it's all over and it's time to get started with what will be a very busy work week. shadowdaddy has tomorrow off, though, lucky guy ... wonder what he'll be up to, other than laughing at me as he drops me off at the bus stop, only to go back home?

What a way to blow my time - added reviews of gaming and restaurant

To my surprise, Corinna called us right after I did my last entry, and we wound up playing a three person game of Puerto Rico. Like a geek, I wrote it up in my new community, seattle_rico, then geeked out even more and wrote up my lunch yesterday in seattle_dining while shadowdaddy and Corinna have continued battling it out in the living room. Must be nice to have tomorrow off. Me, I'm going to take a shower now, then do my Japanese homework for just a little while before I go to bed.
