Sea dragon

beer tent at the Lulworth Castle country

After 3 hours of kayaking, we're beat and ready for a sit down! We've already watched jousting and eaten lamb bacon cheeseburgers, but we're waiting for the pony show. getting some interesting politics, too. But for now, cider and a fine fiddler.

Back from Dorset

Well, we had a really good weekend. It was amazing how I could practically feel the pressure of the city lifting off of my shoulders once we got out into the lovely rolling chalk hills and away from "it all."

Highlights: fossil trees, home made raspberry chocolate truffles, watching a border collie herd geese up a slide and into a wading pool, violin music and nice cider in a beer tent, slalom kayaking between limestone boulders in perfect teamwork with shadowdaddy, terriers worrying a bit of fuzz on a string, the "waggiest tail" contest.

Lowlights: stinging nettles in the Coombe Keynes churchyard, hunger induced confusion in Swanage, windy road induced motion sickness on Saturday. But all of those things were yesterday so today balanced them all out.

Back home and sitting between shadowdaddy and wechsler (who was kind enough to feed the cat and cook us dinner) on the couch, so feeling like life is good and in a certain degree of denial about the things that bring me down (very related to Monday and all). I do have another job interview tomorrow, so that will be good.
