The return of insomnia

It is cruel to not get enough sleep because you're worried about not getting enough sleep. Thus I have slept 7 hours when I might have managed 7 1/2 at least.

We are probably looking at 10-15 flats today. I really need my energy. And then I'm going to see a panto. It is going to be a long and tiring day.

Just what a day, really. Househunting day the Nth.

Wow. What a day. I looked at flats with shadowdaddy from 10 AM until 2:30, had a cup of tea, then plunged back in by myself until 4, at which time I was carsick (thanks to the last moronic estate agent), cold, and desperate to get back to Putney. I was a geek and twittered all of my househunting, which means I'm mostly too tired to talk about it here, other than to say we found three flats we'd love to live in if they were either cheaper or closer to transport or both.

Afterwards I met up with Josela and wechsler at Chula for some Indian food, then went with a late-arriving shadowdaddy to the Lyric Hammersmith to meet up with adjectivemarcus, lovelybug, (none of whom I'd seen in about two months) and my uncle and a 4 year old H to see Cinderella. Unfortunately I thought I'd booked us for a panto; what it was was a sort of artistic retelling of the story, very close to the Grimm version, with many extra Grimm fairytales thrown in. All was going well until the last five minutes, when there was a serious amount of body part removal happening on stage. This did not sit well with H, even though I personally was laughing my pants off as the, er, eyeballs were plucked out of the wicked stepsisters' heads (J's comment: "Look behind you! Oh, no, I guess you can't.") I would have MUCH preferred a panto, as I needed the energy lift, but I will say that seeing so many of my friends was a lift all in itself.

As will be the nine or ten hours of sleep I'm about to get. See you all later.e
