1. Sales tax: not included.
2. Credit card receipts need signing.
3. The locations of the damned entrances to 99/Aurora (however these are being changed again so this is probably losable knowledge).
4. Tipping: 10% is not adequate.
5. Gas is no longer a trivial expense (from $1.15 a gallon to $4.55).
6. My friends here are just extraordinarily lovely.
It's been a really good trip here and I know that living here as a single woman would work well for me - but I'd still be lonely because I don't like living by myself. But, you know, plus ca change. And maybe one of these people I'm lined up to date will turn out to be worth something.
Last night was a blast - four hours at Kaname Izakaya
, and ms_vermilion
, and I got them to make us food special - "can you do that again without the shrimp?" "How about a sushi roll with seaweed in the middle?" I'm sorry I can't go there every Friday. Then a few of us went off to do karaoke, which was a no-go at Bush Gardens but just fine at Venus "box" underneath Maekawa. We'll always be scarred by the karaoke video of "Bohemian Rhapsody" showing the plastic toy soldier melting in a toaster. It was great.
Off to see a href="https://www.tacomaartmuseum.org/Page.aspx?nid=398
">Hide/Seek at the Tacoma Art Museum</a>, "the first major exhibition to address the question of how gender identity and sexual orientation have dramatically shaped the creation of modern American portraiture." Really sorry booklectic
can't come with us ...
And if you want to hang out, I'll be at Vino Bello tonight probably from 5-7, at Phoenix Tea House from 4-5. If you want to hang out, call Virginia at the Phoenix Tea House, and she will tell you where me and splendid_geryon
are - at least until 6 when she closes the doors.
