Review: Elisir d'Amore

Tuesday I managed to make it to the opening night of an opera, L'elisir d'Amore, at the King's Head Theater in Islington. I wasn't planning on going, but got a last minute invitation from shadowdaddy and couldn't resist. It was actually fun, practically Gilbert and Sullivanesque in its silliness, and a great bargain (£10 the night we went, £21 most nights and with reserved seating). Unfortunately I was dying from tired due to staying up too late the night before reading Bujold's Paladin of Souls so struggled during the first act.

Last night I was just RARING to get my review written but wound up spending nearly an hour trying to sort out my internet. Upshot: ain't got none. I uploaded my review by tethering my laptop to my phone but the whole thing was a farce. And get this: IT MADE ME GET HIVES. Apparently I still have rather a bit more getting well to do than I thought - I was planning on laying off the Cimetidine this weekend but it doesn't seem possible now. I hate being so damned sensitive to stress, it's cramping my style.
