At a wine tasting tonight with J, kind of feeling like everything is just going to be okay.

VillaSolais,Sardinia. Grapes: Vermintino and Luragos. Nice and light: it's a white wine, not much to say! She says peachy with a little citrus. Made in stainless steel.
Mandrorossa : from Menfi, Sicily. Piano grapes. She says creamy/smokey, taste is very dry with low acidity. J thinks it smells a bit like a nice tuna steak with a bit of lemon. I find it crispy.
San Cdreonia, from Mallorca organic and biodynamic, very little sulfur. Mesquida Mora. Three varieties: chardonnay, parellada, pensal (a Mallorcan grape). She finds it nutty and yeasty. She says it has a long lasting flavor.
Mandrarossa Nero d'Avala 2012. She describes as brambly, fruity with a little liquorice. Very light and easy drinking. Deffo getting a buzz now.
Grotta Rossa Sardinia 2011, Carignan (del Sulcis). I think it tastes herbal, much less spicy than the French carignan. (£15)
Planeta (Sicily of course!), Cerasuolo di Vittoria 2011. Nero d'Avola and Frappato. No oak. More altitude. Kinda boring and bubbly.
Thelema South Africa "Stellenbosch" "mountain Red" (Shiraz, Petit Verdot & others). Oaked. Un petit Eau du Windex (says J). Yummy vanilla taste with fruit, she detects charcoal. Intense flavor. Screwtop, interestingly enough. (£15)
