As it turns out, I got bored during the movie. I think it was during the German scene. I just didn't care about what was happening. It didn't help that two characters in a movie I thought was extraordinarily irritating (Thor - please, someone, explain the accents) had major roles. Why were they back?
I saw a bunch of jokes that were set up way in advance come up and fail to be, well, funny. They had no surprise to them.
I found myself missing the deep exploration of character and motivation of the Xmen series. This was just a popcorn movie, but one I could have skipped. Ah, age, you raise my standards higher as time goes by.
Ah well. I got to see Einstein on the Beach Sunday night and that took care of my arty farty quotient, and, to be honest, it kind of bored me, too, but certainly not because I thought I was having my time wasted with dullness.
