Mini political rant

While the servers are down.

This quote yesterday made me laugh over my cup of tea. (Not guaranteed exact as I haven't seen it reproduced in print yet.) UPDATE: Got it now, thanks to Tom Tomorrow!

George Bush: "These people hate freedom. And we love freedom."

Snicker. Citizens of a country that want to chase an occupying power out are not freedom loving? Would Bush get it if the Iraqis invaded a supply ship at night and dumped crates of tea into the water, while a man raced through the streets of Falluja on camelback shouting, "The Americans are Coming!" ?

while I agree with you ideaLOGICALLY...
I have to say that I disagree with the...Metaphor? The "Tea Party" was a protest to taxation without representation. We are not taxing the Iraqis as far as I know, just oppressing them and forcing them into a molded likeness of whom we see fit. As far as looking for a good American History Metaphor that an aging...WASP?...would connect with; I highly doubt we could find one.

Forget about Paul Revere; the Iraqis and the entire Arab world need a Gandhi or even a Martin Luther King Jr. to pull them out of this quagmire of oppression, persecution, and, subjugation. That way political fence sitters would support say Palestinians that were peaceful and being killed. In the meantime, I have given up hope that George Bush is ever going to get it.

Yeah, after the thing about the Saudis came out Sunday night I think I'm ready to just give up on the political rants altogether. It's just too disgusting. It just seems lame to go back to rants about Hollywood, but it's easier to not give myself an ulcer wondering about who's breaking up with whom than it is about wondering how my country became an invading power.
