Thanks to all ...

Thank you to everyone who conspired to help keep me from getting the isolation blues while shadowdaddy was gone. Specifically, thanks to runningnekkid for making me feel like family over what could have been a long and lonely weekend; scarlettina for getting me excited about singing again; Bret Fetzer for being flexible about his SIFF schedule; vulture23 for being willing to deal with parking in the ID just to play some games; irrationalrobot for accepting me dropping in only semi-invited for dinner and games with a guest the day after his trip back home; dycynic for inviting me to hang out at Circus Contraption with them as if she KNEW I needed a push on Friday; and Nick, Cathy, and Elliot, whom all were willing to hang out with me when I might have felt weird and out of place without making it look like charity. Thanks, and now that he's back I've got lots of photos to go through and neat stuff to look at. And I need to write up my new story for Tablet.

So here's the situation, I'm talking in the phone with a friend who is from the midwest and he's all:
I'm comming out there soon! I can't wait for you to show me around Seattle!
and I'm all: Err....
and he's all: GREAT! *click*

I was wondering if within the next few weeks (once I get our of school) or weekends if you'd be so kind to show me where all the comic/book stores, CD places, clothes etc places are, the good ones and all that good shizzle.

I'll drive if we need to and I'll also buy you lunch or dinner. Can you help?

That would be a hoot. Let's do it. I love showing people around. How long's he going to be here? We can set things up around that. Here's a good walking tour I wrote up for Tablet. You can take yourself on it while we're trying to get our schedules organized.

A couple of thoughts- if you are planning on showing off the comic book stores, etc, I think it is a safe bet that he's either into Anime, Sci-Fi, or both.

Anime- there is a place on University Way (or used to be, ask ) called Anime Kingdom that is pretty good, and browsing the anime section at scarecrow should prove pretty mind-blowing.

As far as sci-fi specialty shops go, I don't think we really have one here- as the University Book Shop has such an unbelievably good selection that no competitor would be able to keep in business.

Happy hunting!
