Results of first Japanese test

It was rather depressing today to watch my Japanese teacher pace back and forth in front of the class with a dour, dour expression on her face. "Never before has a class done so poorly on their test. The results between the noon and evening class have always been very close, but this time ... I do not know what I did wrong. I was up at night tossing and turning, trying to figure it out. I will let you retake the test. I have never done this before, but I must have done something wrong for it to have been so bad."

Well, as for me, I misread the instructions on the "write these words" section of the test ... I transliterated them, but did not translate. I got a zero on that. Oops. Also, when we did the "read these 10 words written in Hiragana in front of the class" bit, I choked - I just felt so rushed I couldn't think straight. Oops.

So yeah, I'll be taking the test over again next week. Oopsie!

And dinner tonight at Old Szechuan was pretty tasty, but next time I'll skip the dishes with the bitter melon, and maybe get off my ass about calling butterflake and corvuscrx beforehand to see if they want to join us - I might even consider charging up my phone so that I could MAKE that call!

(And while I doubt that anyone who reads this gives much of a rip about work, I solved an interesting technical problem that resulted in me learning more about bots, various services that we run, and how to force a test condition by tricking the server. I have now reached Zero Defects. W00T!)
