The Sangria party last night was a great hit, at least for me. We had rolling waves of visitors, starting with motomotoyama, then neighbors Chris and Devon (complete with 24 ounce Buds, what a joke!), then brother Chris and Maurie (wedding dress in tow), and finally neighbors Dan and Annie. They had good news about the Seattle U presentation at City Hall, which got shot down in a major victory for the neighborhood. Somehow the sangria mostly lasted through the evening, although around 10 PM it seemed like we could use a refresh. However, the guests were packing up, so I just poured the tawny port directly on the fruit and worked on that for a while. YUM!
All things considered, I feel very good this morning, no hangover or anything. I made it from bed to office in LESS THAN AN HOUR. And when I got here there were donuts in the kitchen! Hurray!
Tonight we're supposed to see Parrot Fever, possibly with my brother. No solid plans for Saturday, although I'd certainly enjoy making more sangria. It's possible that this afternoon I'll get dragged off by Dan or Annie to attend a meeting with Seattle U. We'll see how it goes.
