If you had a cigarette on you, you could light it off of the nimbus of fire currently surrounding my body.

Hee hee! Did you see the movie I linked to?

Not so sure about other jobs in this company, the London office doesn't have a proper dev department so unless they change the org radically it's really the only job that might come up for me in the next two years. That is, unless I want to switch companies.

Shirley a "promotion" where you just get more work and not more pay is not a promotion. Go for the damn job anyway. Fuck 'em.

I can't, I have to have my manager's permission to apply. Working on getting that.

Considering you are fouled up by a "promotion" which doesn't carry a pay increase, and your manager knew damn well you were wanting this other position - would they have done it to fuck you up?

Screwdriver
The two offices don't communicate with each other, so the fact this got posted late was not done to mess with me. My boss knows how much I want to go, but someone in a very key position just left our group - the second one to go in two months (my boss replaced guy #1), so we are surely tight right now. I understand the position he's in but I really hope he'll see the advantage of at least letting me try for the position. Since they say they want 3 years of loc experience, it's possible I wouldn't qualify for it anyway.

Re: Screwdriver
I'd still be sceptical about their timing here, to be honest.

Re: Screwdriver
But I really don't think she knows I got the job here. So I think it has a lot to do with what was going on in her office and the timing of the release, etc., rather than anything to do with me.
