Iguana. Thoughts.

We went to see Night of the Iguana at ACT tonight. It's no wonder it is considered one of Tennessee William's masterworks. At one point when the lead male character was describing what he did to get defrocked, I could feel his entire life history pressing out of him - the character became real to me, as if I were just listening to someone talk in a bar. It was great. The actor who portrayed him - not so great, but the other performances were very good. It is one of the best mainstage shows I've seen in Seattle.

Other thoughts. 1) I should take a painting class this fall. 2) The job my company is offering in London looks boring, like a third as interesting as the one I have now. This means - should I wait for a better job to come up? I spend so much of my time at work, I would really like to be doing something I enjoy, like I am now. I will have to think on it.

Very nice to enjoy a play with both scarlettina and shadowdaddy. It's great when you see a bunch of movies or plays (or what have you) with folks, because then you can talk in the shared vocabulary you now have. "Doesn't that look just like the verandah from ...." "Does that character remind you of the young girl ..." "Do you remember when Reverend Shannon said, 'It's almost impossible for anybody to believe they're not loved by someone they believe they love'?" "Remember those good looked Utilikilted guys in Macbeth? YUMMY!" And so on.

And it's after 11 PM at night and I'm writing test cases. Boy, I can't WAIT for this week to be over.
