shadowdaddy: I'm starving.
Me: (makes food in kitchen)
Me: Was that good?
shadowdaddy: I'm cold.
Me: Well, you wouldn't be if you'd been cooking.
shadowdaddy: I'm tired.
Me: Come sit down on the couch. Did you have enough to eat?
shadowdaddy (walking to couch): Yes. (Grabs blanket and wraps it around himself.)
Me: Hmm.(Gets bag with book and sewing in it, then sits down.)
shadowdaddy: (falls over sideways into my lap)
Me (pulling book out of bag): Shall I read to you?
Me: BLAH BLAH Anansi BLAH BLAH (looks at shadowdaddy) BLAH and have you noticed that you've fallen asleep yet, as, if so, you should say something or I will stop reading ...
Me: (reads in silence while idly scratching shadowdaddy's hair.)
Righty-o. So some people buy thimbles or thermometers when they travel. I buy ... food. Whatever I think I can get away with given the relevant laws. Tonight, I broke in the herbed dumpling mix I bought in March, and served it with chicken thighs (cooked in the crockpot while I was at work) and some kind of "pull it out of a hat" vegetable medley of green beans, peppers, and onions. Yum! I don't know why I haven't been putting sage and stuff in my dumplings all along, it was ace.
Er, in other news, I'm pretty convinced shadowdaddy has a cold. And I really enjoyed Pilates tonight, even though it made my legs shake.
