There were fireworks

Left motomotoyama's house around 10:15 and wound up watching the fireworks go off over the lake as we drove by on the interstate. People were driving at about 5 miles an hour ... it was quite beautiful. We stayed up until 1 AM playing Carcasonne BC again, which was fun. Believe it or not, we tied, but only because Mr. Sneakypants managed to hitch his wagon to my watershed and denied me the points.

Up at 10, we went to the Milk Carton Derby on Greenlake, which is now sponsored by some Japanese hamster cartoon (whatever, at least it was cute). We took a walk around the lake, then watched the parade of contestants before splitting to do the rest of our errands (Trader Joe's, Mud Bay Granary). Now we're waiting for my brother to come over so we can break in Princes of Florence. I've got a lot of cleaning to do, but at least there's pasta salad and sangria still in the fridge.
