In Flagrante Gothicto was great, a fabulous combination of Rebecca, Jane Eyre, and Wuthering Heights. I loved the moments of hysterical incongruity, like when the costume ball was happening and Our Heroine showed up in a grass skirt with a coconut bra. And the stage craft was so on target -- I about shot the pooch when the singer at the party did a series of scales and then just sat there with her mouth open while the sound of dogs howling in the distance came over the speakers of the theater. What a great time!
Had a nice chat with Debbie and Dave before, during, and after the show. He is apparently the same personality type I am, as he yelled at the people whose cell phones went off during the show (I don't in live theater because I think it disturbs the actors more than the phone does, although I will in a movie). She said the contract at *$$ she submitted me for would start some time in mid-August. I imagine they would be very busy with the WaMu project at Quardev, but they've been so flaky I just can't imagine that it will actually happen when they say it will. We'll see.
Otherwise, I more or less finished my article around 6:15, we got to Jai Thai to meet the wedding party at around 6:40, then wrapped up the night at Doc Watsons, where Worthy Opponent met back up with us after going to the airport to pick up his brother. They're at Linda's now, and I'm home because I didn't want to drink anymore and I didn't want to push them to go out to eat when they were feeling all social and drinky, plus my eyeballs were sticking together and that's a sure sign it's time to go home.
