A spring Sunday in Seattle

It seems inexpressibly gorgeous outside today, the sunlight lightly diffused and the air warm. My tulips are blooming in mad style, and my backyard looks lovely. It seems criminal that I'm heading off to see a show indoors in a few minutes, when clearly what I should be doing is spending the rest of this afternoon sitting in one of the big chairs in my backyard, reading and cross-stitching and drinking tea and chatting with friends and occasionally stopping to stare at the insanely beautiful flowers and go, "Ooh, ah!" The biscuits that I made (from scratch!) to go with breakfast would be so nice as a little snack, and I could even imagine myself slowly dozing off and getting a little bit of a sunburn.

And shadowdaddy has to work today at 4. Sigh. Off to it, then. At least I had the cup of tea and the biscuits.
